中文在英文后面。The 2008 Summer Volunteer Program is in full swing. Volunteers arrived at Guan Ai Elementary School throughout the day on July 13, hailing from several different countries and many parts of China. We were pleased that several alumni volunteers and rural teachers who participated in last year’s program could come, including Principal Zhang from Dayang Henan and his wife, and Principal Tang and Mr. Du from Guozhuang, Shandong. After dinner the first night, we all gathered with local teachers from the three different schools the volunteers will hold summer camp classes in. Steve Liu and Shijie Feng led everyone in ice-breaking games and then there was free mingling time with watermelon and snacks for all. Sara Lam’s birthday was also celebrated with a neon green cake! The picture here is of Wei Tao, a returning alumni volunteer, reuniting with the students he taught last summer at Guan Ai Elementary. They’ve been asking about him all year and now he’s finally back. It’s great that we have 3 returning volunteers from 2007 and 3 committee volunteers participating in SVP this year!
