Yuan Dan in Guan Ai School
The annual Yuan Dan performance at Guan Ai School is one of the biggest village events of the year. It took place on December 30th, a cold but clear day. All of the students had the chance to perform on the school field with most of their parents standing around watching them. Teachers and students prepared for this performance for quite a long time–almost a month! A special act this year was called “Unit Dancing”, in which a lot of students dance together. Grade 1 & 2, 3 & 4, 5 & 6 danced as 3 units and they all did a great job.
Grade 2 students prepared an amazing 20-minute drama (which had me editing music for 2 all-nighters in a row!). There was no time to rehearse with the final version music but fortunately, the little actors and actresses performed very professionally, and most of the audience was moved by their acting. The only problems were a few mistakes in the music, which can be attributed to me.
