RCEF New York Gathering

banana bread cupcakesOn Friday, December 21, the New York RCEF volunteers had a small potluck dinner at Diana Wu’s apartment. Of the guests who attended included Dale Wen (RCEF’s consultant), Weiji Ma, Ting Zhou, Nancy King (VP 2006 alumna), Jean Tsao (Director of Fundraising) and Annie (a prospective RCEF committee volunteer), both of whom had to leave early. Aside from being a financial analyst, Annie has a fondness for education and an impressive resume filled with volunteering experiences, and she spoke extensively about her thoughts on corporate fund-raising for RCEF. After that, we feasted on pumpkin corn soup, Dale’s delicious vegetable curry, Thai noodles, brown rice a la Weiji (translation: modestly burnt), fruit salad, carrot cake from Zaro’s, and banana- bread- cupcakes- that- turned- into- scones- due- to- oven- malfunction with cream cheese frosting. The night consisted of filling our stomachs with yummy food, jiving to Diana’s awesome music collection, and challenging our brains with thought-provoking discussions. To showcase RCEF member’s wide array of interests, our conversation pieces ranged from medical ethics to political crises in Africa. The night concluded with a rather competitive game of Taboo, with Team DiDaTi beating Team NaWe 26 to 25.

Happy Holidays to all the members and supporters of RCEF, and please share with us your RCEF holiday gatherings!
